BASTIAN KILLJOY’S ‘GOLLY GOSH’ STREAMING ON SPOTIFY

Last week saw the arrival of my latest album ‘Golly Gosh’. Which is now available on all reputable digital outlets. I have taken this album back to my early roots and just wanted to make something in the moment, without over analysing anything too much. And after spending a few months of producing/ writing/ mixing/ mastering the album, this is what I came up with.

I honestly think this is just one of those one off things. Something I won’t try to replicate or dissect. It is now my favourite album and reflects me completely. I’m sure my outlook will continue to change, as it always has. But I will forever very proud to give this to you.

‘Golly Gosh’ is available via iTunes, Google Play, Spotify and many other digital platforms. Physical copies are available via my Bandcamp

BASTIAN KILLJOY ALBUM OUT JULY

Album cover artHip Hop artist Bastian Killjoy has set upon a new journey this year with the announcement of his 4th full length album release ‘Golly Gosh’, due for arrival on July 21st 2016.

The rapturous Melbourne based producer/ emcee has modelled his latest works around his earliest Hip Hop, Rap and R&B influences, many being from the early 90’s. With production styles that recognise artists of the 70’s and 80’s, in a time when musician’s recorded/ produced and mixed their albums, utilising their own skills. Which is precisely what Bastian has done with his latest masterpiece ‘Golly Gosh’ entirely produced by himself.

I have produced all my other albums, to an extent, but have always got to a point where I have needed help from others to complete the project. This time around I have placed a lot of importance on the album belonging to me, I believe it is my most lyrical and personal work to date. After many painstaking months of hard work, I think it’s paid off”. – B. K

From the inspiration of intrigue and true artistry, come the untold workings of Hip Hop enthusiast and architect, Bastian Killjoy.

Album available through – Bandcamp, iTunes and all other reputable outlets

‘MICK’ FILM CLIP PREMIERING THURSDAY 9TH

11539591_1004612556245468_8960025161038163350_nDirector/ visual artist Bron Flutterby has once again joined forces with musician Bastian Killjoy to produce his latest film clip Mick. Set for release on July 9th. Mick is taken from Bastian’s latest full length album  Sides Of Me, which is out now.

Featuring an array of breathtaking visuals and stunning cinematography, Mick is an odyssey through the astral plain, as we are guided to the far side of space and invited inside the prismatic imaginations of Bastian Killjoy and Bron Flutterby.

With Mick’s transient clarity having a similar texture to a film shot in mid 1980’s, it would appear that Mick has always existed in the back recesses of our cognitive minds.

Mick was written for a fan named Mick during Bastian’s Pozible campaign in 2014, which saw the production of the album Sides Of Me on vinyl, and is the second film clip taken from the album. With the single Tie Me To This being the first released in November of 2014. Mick will be premiering Thursday the 9th of July via Bastian Killjoy’s Youtube channel.

The single Mick is currently available for free download via TripleJ Unearthed

BASTIAN KILLJOYS SINGLE PREMIER ‘ALL OVER’ LIVE VIDEO

10943108_911277775578947_4442744608064973591_nUpon the release of my album ‘Sides Of Me’ a couple of months ago, I was unsure as to whether I wanted to share these new songs on a live platform, that is performing them to an audience.

There is an abstract fragment of electronic soundscapes, mixed in with acoustic drums through most of the songs from the release and to tell you the truth I am not totally convinced that this is what a crowd wants to see live.

Maybe it doesn’t make sense, maybe i’m too far out there. Or maybe this just belongs at home while your stoned in your lounge room on a Friday night. Who knows.

Nevertheless I have played a few of these new songs live, a few times, to a few people. And they seemed to enjoy them, so Bron Flutterby recorded a video of one of my “favourite” songs ‘All Over’ live to share with you.

You who I do not know and who does not know me, you the music enthusiast that was able to find this in the infinite internet. Where some things are lost and people choose brush over importance for short term gratification or stimulation.

So if we are going to get into this and I am going to share this with you, then I will say this song is written in reference to pioneering Sci-Fi films. That is the sound I was aiming to achieve. The lyrics are about how far my spirit has come to awaken at this point in time. But this is a fragment of the whole story, how could I express and expose so much of myself in just under 3 minutes? I couldn’t, and that is why the album ‘Sides Of Me’ is my story of who I am, why I am here, what is happening around me, my intentions, obsessions, love all of it. Summed up in one album, that is to say where I have been and where I am now. My previous albums and EP’s attempt to explain the rest.

So I share with you ‘All Over’ remembering that it is just a small part of the bigger picture. To view the video click here or click the photo in this post. I hope you enjoy

– BAS
